STILL LIFE

RECENT WORK         STILL LIFE          HOMAGE TO THE MASTERS

ARTIST STATEMENT

I have an obsession to present my subjects in a lifelike and realistic manner so as to infuse in the viewer the feeling that the objects portrayed are actually in front of them.  I do this by transforming the bi-dimensional flat plane of the canvas into a virtual three dimensional space that exists in the brain of those observing my art work.

Through the study of nature, people and the objects that surround me, I find inspiration in their beauty which motivates me to get involved in the process of placing my balanced and harmonic compositions onto the canvas.

I am fascinated by the way light falls onto objects and depicts their color, shape, texture and dimension.  The key role in the representation of my subjects is the “interpretation of light”.
